Wakib: Income Generation Through ICT for Development
The Wakib: Income Generation through ICT for Development project built the information, communications, technology (ICT), and business skills of vulnerable groups in Lebanon such as women, youth, and unemployed persons. The program also assisted micro and small enterprises in disadvantaged communities to increase their employment and income-generating capacity.
Wakib equipped 32 young people ("DOT Interns") with technology and leadership skills so they could facilitate training sessions in information, communication, technology and business to 2000 vulnerable people and small businesses throughout Lebanon via DOT's ReachUp! and ScaleUp! programs.
