Modern Voices for Protection
Modern Voices for Protection (dubbed Aswatouna, or "Our Voices" by project participants) is a project funded by the Canadian Fund for Local Initiatives that will train two youth from the Ein El Helwi Palestinian refugee camp to become "Community Focal Persons" and deliver empowerment and technology training to women and youth within the refugee camp.
The young people trained as Community Focal Persons will be equipped with protection, advocacy, technology, and leadership skills, and will promote the use of technology for advocacy and entrepreneurship in their community by delivering DOT's ReachUp! program.
To date, DOT Lebanon's Community Focal Persons have trained 71 women and youth in technology, communications, business skills, and advocacy in the El Helwi Palestinian refugee camp.
