Connected Communities and Business Initiative
The Connected Communities and Business Initiative (CCBI) project aimed to enhance access to business and information, communication, and technology (ICT) services for communities to enhance knowledge sharing among participating communities.
The project saw the establishment of 8 Fouras Centres that offer social and business services as well as information, communications, and technology training to the communities in which they were established. The eight centres have been registered in Lebanon as civil organizations. All eight Fouras Centres are are now self-sustaining community hubs.
The Fouras Centres also led to the establishment of The Beehive (http://lebanon.thebeehive.org/), a website that connects the people who access the Fouras Centres to online tools and resources that can help them take action to improve their lives.
