Held this year on May 23, the Lebanese American University NGO Fair presents a platform for Lebanese NGOs to present to students the importance of community service and volunteerism.

The Lebanese American University (LAU) invited DOT Lebanon to participate in its 3rd Annual LAU NGO Fair at the Byblos Campus on Wednesday May 23, 2012. The theme of this year's fair was "Unity is Strength."

VID00471.jpgThe fair aims to bridge the gap between students and civil society. NGOs are given the chance to expose students to their work, and students are given the opportunity to channel their creative potential, energy and passion into the meaningful conduit of constructive social work.

This year, the LAU NGO fair created a forum for NGOs and students to come together and discover way to leverage resources for a better Lebanon.

During the event, DOT Lebanon hosted a booth with information about programs, presented a short documentary film about DOT Lebanon, and shared a Prezi presentation about DOT and Lebanon.

The fair's opening ceremony began with a welcome from the hosts and the Minister of Health in Lebanon as well as the Dean of LAU. A presentation was made about previous activities by LAU's Outreach and Civic Engagement Department, and it closed with the distribution of participation certificates and small souvenirs.
